The person you will be on December 31, 2023 is only determined by you; your thoughts, your actions, and your loyalty to yourself. What kind of person will you be?
9% of people will see their new year resolution through until succession, while 25% of people have already given up. You have every chance to be a part of that 9% of people, and there’s just one thing that separates the top 9% with the 91% of failures.
It’s the one thing that will set you up for success in 2023, and every year after that. It’s something that you can apply to every aspect of your life to really succeed and see transformation and progression. It’s something incredibly simple.
The one thing that will allow you to be in that top 9% of successors is: consistent action.
Like I said, it’s simple. So the real question is, why aren’t you already doing it? Well, the reason that you’re not already doing it is because the actions that are required to be done consistently, day after day, in order to really progress and transform, can feel incredibly minute. What are these actions, you ask? Some examples are:
Read 10 pages per day
Call a friend
30 minutes of exercise
8k steps
Drink camomile before bed
Stretch body
Meditate for 5 minutes
Invest $1 per day
Now, I have both good news and bad news for you. The good news is that any of these actions are incredibly easy to do. The bad news? They’re easier not to do. This is because we don’t see immediate results. If you do any of these actions for 1 day, 1 week, or even 1 month, you may not see or feel much of a difference. This makes it easier to feel like we can ‘skip a day’ or stop all together. But that’s exactly the time to keep consistent, because after 1 year of consistent, repeated action, I guarantee that you’ll be able to both feel and see the results you were aiming for.
A quick and easy activity that you can do to get started is to write down what you would like to achieve in terms of these three areas:
Health
Work
Financial
Now, under each category, write down one action that, if completed daily, will allow you to reach that goal.
Great. How will you track this? How will you keep yourself accountable? Personally, I have a habit tracker up on my bedroom wall, where I can tick off the habits I complete each day. This is a great reference for me to ensure I don’t forget anything. Ask yourself, what form of accountability works best for me? Now go and make it happen.
As Brian Tracy states in his book, ‘Eat That Frog’, if you become 1% better each day for a year, by the end of the year you will be 36.5 times better than when you started!
Make the actions simple, and be consistent.
