We are A² Tutors
A² Tutors is a Sydney-wide tutoring service, supporting students from K-12 in their journey through school. At A² Tutors, our mission is to instil confidence in our students, and change the path of their lives. We strive to inspire all students to love to learn again, gain their confidence back and achieve academic success. We believe that each student is different and aim to teach and educate them in a way that suits their individual needs.
The A² Tutors don’t just teach content, they teach their students skills that will benefit them throughout their adult lives. Yes, preparing for exams are important, but implementing healthy habits around study plans, schedules and self-care tops the cake for us. At A² Tutors, our team builds connections with their students, allowing them to really get to know them, how they work and how they learn best - which sets the student up for success, while also having fun with their well-known tutor.
The Details
Sessions will be held in a booked meeting room at Top Ryde Library, to ensure that students are able to collaborate in small-groups. Sessions will be run by a qualified teacher.
Each group will have 6 sessions over the January 2023 holidays (2 per week). Session days/times will be sent out to students in December.
Spots are limited to maintain small-group teaching strategies. We will only be accepting 8 students per year group.
These holidays we are offering HSC workshops for:
Biology
This is suitable for Year 10 2022 students who would like a head start on the HSC Biology curriculum, or Year 11 2022 students who would benefit from preliminary revision.
In this workshop, an experienced HSC tutor will be working through preliminary content and past-paper questions, focusing on common challenges of HSC Biology students.
Topics may include: Cells as the Basis of Life, Organisation of Living Things, Biological Diversity, Ecosystem Dynamics.
Chemistry
This is suitable for Year 10 2022 students who would like a head start on the HSC Chemistry curriculum, or Year 11 2022 students who would benefit from preliminary revision.
In this workshop, an experienced HSC tutor will be working through preliminary content and past-paper questions, focusing on common challenges of HSC Chemistry students.
Topics may include: Properties and Structure of Matter, Introduction to Quantitative Chemistry, Reactive Chemistry, Drivers of Reactions.
Standard Maths
This is suitable for Year 10 2022 students who would like a head start on the Standard Maths curriculum, or Year 11 2022 students who would benefit from preliminary revision.
In this workshop, an experienced HSC tutor will be working through preliminary content and past-paper questions, focusing on common challenges of HSC Maths students.
Topics may include: Simultaneous Linear Equations, Budgeting and Household Expenses, Investments, Depreciation and Loans, Networks, Shortest paths, Non-right-angled Trigonometry, Rates and Ratio.
These holidays we are offering Maths workshops for:
Year 3-6 Maths Fluency
Does your child struggle with mentally calculating answers efficiently? This is the perfect workshop for them.
A student from Year 3-6 is fluent when they can recall multiplication facts and use the inverse to calculate division facts, as well as use addition and subtraction strategies to support their mental math efficiency.
This is suitable for students from Year 3 to Year 6, who would benefit from improving their Mathematical fluency skills. Here, our experienced and qualified tutors will be teaching students progressive techniques to improve their mental math skills.
Year 7/8 Maths readiness, review and organisational skill building
This is suitable for Year 6 and 7 2022 students. Our aim is to support the transition to high school Maths for our Year 6's, and to foster confidence for our Year 7's, before they begin Year 8.
In addition to this, each session will include an organisational and time management skill building session, to better prepare the students for the upcoming, and future, years.
Topics may include: Financial Mathematics, Ratios and Rates, Algebraic techniques, Indices, Equations, Linear Relationships.
Year 9-10 Maths Review
This is suitable for Year 9 and 10 2022 students who would benefit from reviewing the stage 5 content before moving onto the next stage of the syllabus.
A stage 5 diagnostic assessment (5.1, 5.2 and 5.3) will be used prior to the workshop, to allow us to focus on the specific syllabus content that our students are working towards achieving. Here, exam-like content will be covered.
Topics may include: Area and Surface Area, Financial Mathematics, Linear Relationships, Non-Linear Relationships, Trigonometry,
Single Variable Data Analysis, Volume.
